Fashion designer found dead in Laguna home
The bloodied body of an veteran fashion designer was discovered inside hisб═ home in Laguna province Sunday morning.
Police said the body of Ernesto Santiago, 71, was found inside his residence in Barangay 2, Pagsanjan town at 10:30 by his nephew Paolo.
Police said Santiago sustained a head wound and was probably suffocated to death with a pillow. Probers also said that the assailant might have hit the victim on the head with a dumbbell.
Investigators initially eyed robbery as the motive behind the killing. They said several pieces of Santiago’s jewelry, cellular phone and cash worth P200,000 were missing from his home.
The victim’s Mitsubishi Strada pick-up truck (VDS-530) was also nowhere to be found, police added.
Police are still following up the case.
The Fashion Designers Association of the Philippines Web site (www.fdapsilver.com) described Santiago as the first FDAP chairman of the board.
