Balenciaga, one of the most influential names in fashion, is back in beauty.
The design house has signed a deal with Coty Inc.’s Coty Prestige division to create, develop and distribute fragrance lines under the Balenciaga nameplate. The first fragrance is tentatively slated for a spring 2010 launch.
The agreement will be unveiled today.

PARIS – Rochas is making a fashion comeback.
Two years after brand owner Proctor & Gamble shuttered the money-losing ready-to-wear house, it has signed a global licensing agreement with Italy’s Gibo SpA to manufacture and distribute Rochas ready-to-wear.
The first collection is to be readied for March 2009. P&G will continue to market Rochas fragrances. [...]
